Counselling in Surrey

I believe that most struggles in life can boil down to relationships, how we relate with those around us, such as friends, family, work and also how we relate to ourselves, our story and our past. My approach to therapy is relational, which means I believe that our well-being is greatly influenced by the quality of our connections with others. I start by promoting a calm, non-judgmental and trusting relationship with you, which can help you to be able to delve a bit deeper into your suffering so that we can explore together the things you are finding difficult, painful or keeping you stuck.

My Approach

The type of Counselling I offer you is integrative, where I work with a variety of different approaches tailored to your own needs and personality. I work relationally with a curiosity towards how we connect and work together to get to know and understand the real you. The focus of counselling is not always finding solutions, but for you to gain a deeper understanding of your problem and how you are experiencing it, helping you to make sense of it all. Our past cannot be changed, but with the right support and understanding, you can learn to make sense of it and how it has impacted you, separate what belongs to you and what belongs to other people, to free up your mind to work out your problems and move forward from there.

Working with me, we can work out the meaning of your suffering, explore the root of what might be causing it and re-connect to the real you. Then an opening can be created to find choices you didn't realise were available to you, empowering you to choose you every time.

About Me

Counsellor in Wallington, Surrey

I am an experienced and qualified counsellor/therapist and member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). This is a professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists who follow the same set of professional and ethical standards. If you would like to know more about them, you can find more information on their website or by clicking here.

Outside of work, I enjoy the freedom of being in nature and have an energetic dog who shares the same interest. There is something about connecting with people outdoors that feels uplifting. Dog walking on a warm day with friends is one of my favourite things to do and when the weather is not so good I like nothing more than debating over what film to settle down to watch with my teenage children.
